Erislandy Lara will put his WBA middleweight title on the line when he squares off with Danny Garcia in Las Vegas this coming weekend.

The pair, both two-weight world champions across their careers, are the second bout from the top on the fight card beneath Canelo Alvarez and Edgar Berlanga.

Yet both men look set to serve up an encounter that could be every bit as enthralling, as they aim to put on a fantastic show.

Lara:

“I’m excited for this fight with Danny Garcia,” Lara (30-3-3, 18 knockouts) told The Ring. “He’s a big name in the sport, and our paths have finally crossed. This is a fight that the fans have been asking for, and I’m ready to put on a show. It’s going to be a battle.”

“Danny Garcia is a former two-division world champion and he’s one of the best fighters of this era,” said Lara. “He’s proven himself at the highest levels, and I respect what he brings to the ring. He has power and good timing, but I believe my ring IQ, movement, and precision will be the difference in this fight.”

“My goal at this stage is to continue building my legacy and take on the biggest fights available,” he said. “I still have a lot left to accomplish, and I want to prove that I’m still one of the best fighters in the world.
