One of the biggest and most important fights of boxing's modern era is scheduled to go down on July 29 when Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford meet to crown an undisputed welterweight champion. The fight is a meeting of arguably the two best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport and has been years in the making.

Crawford (39-0, 30 KO) is the current WBO welterweight champion and has held world titles at both lightweight and junior welterweight, becoming undisputed at 140 pounds. He has long been considered one of boxing's absolute top talents but was held back from the biggest fights at welterweight by his long affiliation with Top Rank, with most of the elite 147-pound fighters operating under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.

What has been said?

Spence told All Access: "I couldn’t think of a better scenario than this. I’m the guy, for sure.

"I’m the A-side. I got to be A-side, and that’s why the business side was kind of because, with him, he just didn’t want to believe that I’m the big dog when we talk about ticket sales, when we talk about putting butts in the seats, all that and he didn’t want to believe that.

"He was like, ‘Well, I did this. I won these belts; I did this.’ That’s cool, but try to take that to the bank. I feel like he’s my dancing partner, and I’m his dancing partner."

Crawford told All Access: "This is the fight that everybody has been yearning for years. It’s one of the biggest fights in the past decade that I can think of.

"So yeah, it’s pretty big. Since I was a little kid, my dad always told me you don’t have any  friends in the ring, and you don’t play boxing. So when I go in the ring, it’s simple. I’m going to win."
